4/24/2009 - What a finale for Making The Band. Love, hate, music, dancing and NO DREA! Boo at my life at that point. However, overall a productive night I am especially happy for Donnie being able to speak his mind I hope he gets his solo show. 04/17/2009 - I am at a complete loss for words what in gods name is Diddy thinking through this whole situation? Letting people out of their contracts, splitting the group up, and now...now...firing Aundrea? Are we serious right now? Is this whats poppin in the hood? Dawn? Seriously? Dawn on a solo? The rumors for the past 2 years turn out to finally be true? I'm speechless. I can't believe this. Read down the page for more info on this story. AHHHHHH!!

D Woods makes her return

February 25th, 2010

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from former Danity Kane singer D. Woods. However, the singer recently made a guest appearance on ‘The Mo’Nique Show’where she performed ‘Legalize Me’ and took part in an interview with the BET host. ‘Legalize Me’ stands as the 1st single from her upcoming ‘The Gray Experience’ LP which will be released later this year.

It’s clear that D. Woods has been keeping her dance game in check because she didn’t miss a step during that performance. It’s great to see that she doesn’t need former Danity Kane choreographer Laurie Anne cracking the whip over her to get her moves in check. The only problem in the performance were her vocals which were noticeably thinner than the last time we heard her sing. Either way, it was still good to see D. Woods doing her thing. Check out the interview below:

DANITY KANE IS BACK

February 21st, 2010

As a comic book?

Danity Kane

eigoMANGA announces the production of the manga adaptation of Danity Kane set to be released to comic book and retail stores in the Spring of 2010.

Danity Kane is created by recording artist Dawn Richard and written by Natasha McGough. Illustrations are done by Kim Jimin. The Danity Kane manga shares the same name as the platinum selling international pop group ”Danity Kane” once fronted by Dawn Richard.

The original Danity Kane comic book was inspired by the music scene in modern society however, Dawn and Natasha plan to take the Danity Kanestory into a different direction.

**** NOTE…Fronted by Dawn Richard?  Oh is someone full of herself.  DAWN NOBODY KNOWS WHO YOU ARE!  You’re a back up singer for Auto-tune Diddy right now ok?  You abandoned the entire group to get your “dream”.  How does it feel?  Oh where’s que now that he left Day 26 I bet you dumped his ass too. ***

Aubrey O’Day was robbed on Wednesday in Los Angeles as the former Danity Kane member and “Making the Band” star was on her way to a television shoot.

According to TMZ, O’Day was robbed on her way to tape a segment for the TV Guide Network. O’Day claims that she was walking down an alley near the building where the shoot was going to take place, when “someone ran behind me and stole everything I was holding.”

The items she claims were stolen include a dress by designer Zac Posen. Aside from the missing items, the singer is fine.

“Aubrey is doing well,” her rep said in a statement about the incident. “She is just a bit shaken up from the day’s chaos and is grateful that she and those around her were unharmed.”

Most recently, O’Day, who posed for Playboy earlier this year, told MTV News thatshe was “excited” to hear about “Hills” star Heidi Montag posing for the magazine’s September issue. “I’m excited that Heidi will join the long list ofPlayboy cover girls!” she said in a statement. “I hope she enjoyed the shoot and feels as liberated as I did! Good luck!”

The news of Heidi’s shoot confirmed months of online speculation that the “Hills” star would be featured in the pages of the famous lad mag. “There is nudity,” a source told People. “It’s tasteful — she had a lot of fun with it.”

Day26 had to own up to their issues during the season-three finale of “Making the Band 4,” hosted by Sway on Thursday night.
All season, the group had fought over finances and creative control of their sound, even causing Diddy to send the band on a cruise without Qwanell Mosley. “It didn’t feel right without Que,” bandmember Brian Andrews said of the trip. Que added, “It was a wakeup call. I was lonely.”

Diddy warned the boys that if they didn’t keep themselves in check, they may end up like Danity Kane, whose many conflicts led Diddy to fire two members on last season’s finale and one more last week.
Day26, along with castmate Donnie Klang, used Thursday night as an opportunity to clear the air. “Honestly, I was going through a lot. I apologize,” Que said about his actions over the season. Will Turner added that things are now cool with Que, and the guys said that the group couldn’t exist without him.
Klang, the show’s only solo act, addressed the fact that he was overshadowed by the two groups. “It was frustrating, ’cause I love them, and obviously, it took up a lot of TV time, and I felt like I missed out,” he said.
But the moment everyone was waiting for was when Diddy reunited with Danity Kane — minus Aundrea Fimbres, who opted not to come after being fired the previous week.
“I felt like I was the oracle,” Dawn Richard, now the only DK member still signed to Bad Boy, said of her efforts to keep the group together. “I think this was a good journey for us.”
Shannon Bex, who didn’t come back to the show or the group this season, said she needed to take some time for herself and her marriage. “I was at a crossroads,” she explained.
The girls still didn’t really want to say who or what was to blame for the split, but D. Woods, one of the members Diddy fired last year, seemed to think it was a long time coming. “I will say that it was something that started from the beginning when this group was put together, and there wasn’t a sound foundation,” she said.
Aubrey O’Day, who at times was blamed for the breakup, added, “After being kicked out [last season], I learned you have to fight to stay happy, and that takes forgiveness of yourself.”
“We had different agendas,” Dawn said. “When we weren’t happy, we started doing different things.”
Then Diddy weighed in. “They were doing their best,” he said. “I don’t know the reasons they broke up. I tried. I don’t think us talking about the past is going to get us anywhere.”
Shannon tried to smooth things over, telling Diddy, “We don’t take for granted you or any of our accomplishments.”
After Diddy wished them well on their solo careers, the ladies were asked if they’d ever consider making DK work again. The consensus: not right now.
“I think if everything could work out absolutely,” Aubrey said.
“I definitely feel like the season we had was wonderful,” D. Woods said. “But right now, it’s a new chapter.”
Shannon was on the fence about a reunion. “I think, at this point in time, no not yet, but maybe one day we can come back together.”
Diddy left the door open, promising that there’d be no DK without the original girls. “I think that everybody needs a time-out, but I will have this announcement: There will never be another Danity Kane unless it’s these girls here,” he said. Then he announced that he’s looking for a new girl group and starting a new show. Meanwhile, he is releasing the DK girls to pursue solo deals — though Dawn’s solo work will still be with Diddy on Bad Boy.
D. Woods also announced that she’s working on music, and Shannon said she might go country next. And Aubrey said she is heading back to the stage — and getting her own reality show.

Fans may have been expecting fireworks when all five girls of Danity Kane finally reunited with each other and Diddy, for the season-three finale of “Making the Band 4″ on Thursday.
But only four of the girls arrived — Audrea Fimbres opted to stay out of it — and there were no fireworks. The girls and their former boss kept their composure as they confirmed that Danity Kane was no more.

Hours before D. Woods appeared on the show, she told MTV News that the finale felt like “the last day of school. I’m moving on to the next grade.”
Thursday was the first time that most of the girls had seen each other since last October’s shocking season finale, when Diddy fired Woods and Aubrey O’Day. Woods told MTV News that the level of communication since the breakup was actually pretty similar to when they were still a group.
“This is the nice answer that I give: The lines of communication that were in existence during the group exist after the group, meaning me and Aubrey talk a lot,” Woods said. “I talk to Shannon sometimes. That’s who I talk to.”
In an episode that aired a week before the finale, Diddy said he’d consider remaking Danity Kane with just Dawn. But on Thursday night, he reversed that decision and said that DK would exist only with its original members.
In the final episode, Woods seemed to be pretty against the idea of getting back together right now. “I would have to say, we need to have a real conversation about what making it work means,” she told MTV News earlier. “If you don’t really address the problems, you’ll be in the same predicament. You have to be sober about making these decisions.”

Aundrea Fimbres Fired

April 18th, 2009

Aundrea Fimbres Fired

Aundrea Fimbres Fired

When “Making the Band” returned for its fourth season earlier this year, only two girls, Aundrea Fimbres and Dawn Richard, returned to try and piece together their careers on Bad Boy and as members of Danity Kane.

After going almost the whole season without revealing the group’s fate, Diddy shared with the girls on Thursday night that he had formally let Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods (whom he’d fired at the end of last season), as well as Shannon Bex (who decided not to return to the show) out of their Bad Boy contracts.

But the real kicker came when he also announced that he’d also be letting Fimbres out of her contract. “You’re a great person, you’re a great girl, but if I did another group, I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing a group with you,” he told her. “I’ve given a lot of thought and I’m gonna let you out your contract too.”

He then revealed to the girls that he would be keeping Richard on at Bad Boy. “As far as for you, Dawn, I still want to make music with you. I still want you to be signed to the label,” he said. “And if I decide to put back together Danity Kane, then you’ll be the only member that’d still be there.”

He continued, “This isn’t a decision I wanted to make. To be honest, y’all girls made this decision for me.”

After being let out of her contract, Fimbres said, “We worked really, really hard to be where we are, and for it to end the way that it did sucks,” she said. “But I can’t be mad. I’ve done the things that I came here to do.

“I’m connected to them for the rest of my life because of something we accomplished together,” she added. “Danity Kane will always be D., Aubrey, Shannon, Dawn and me.”

On Thursday, Diddy Tweeted about his decision. “To all the Danity Kane fans-i truly am sorry. I really did my best.. I’m lookin fwd 2 makin another female band! Thank u 4 all ur support!!!” he wrote. “At the end of the day i just want people to be happy.. if Danity Kane couldn’t be happy together, i’d rather they be happy apart. All love!!!”

The live season finale is set for next Thursday, and there is Internet chatter that all of Danity Kane’s former members will make an appearance on the show.

Aubrey O’Day is pretty proud of making the cover of the March issue of Playboy magazine and enjoyed the experience so much she plans to do it again — but push a few more boundaries next time around.

“I absolutely want to do it again, any day. I’ve been asked to actually,” O’Day told Tarts last week. “I only took a little bit off this time so I’ll be back.”

But it seems as though the former “Danity Kane” diva will have to be careful stepping out in public as life has been a little scarier since she flashed her flesh for the men’s mag.

“I get sent a lot of creepy pictures like of guys licking the pages,” she admitted. “It’s slightly weird.”

And even though Diddy booted the blonde bombshell from his girl group “Danity Kane” last year, the 25-year-old’s public profile seems to have skyrocketed and she’s certainly not allowing the let-down hinder her happiness.

“Everything in life happens for a reason. A lot of people last year were fired, we are in a recession,” O’Day admitted. “We are all going thru hard times. I’m just a public representative for being fired in 2008 and moving on in 2009.”

Aubrey O’Day going solo?

March 4th, 2009

Aubrey O’Day doesn’t want to take part in the speculation and gossip that she feels her fellow former Danity Kane members are spreading in the media about the future of the group.

“In regards to the other negativity, I really just chose not to comment,” she told MTV News. “I wrote a blog on my MySpace page, and if anyone wants to know how I feel, they can go there.”

O’Day did choose to address the reports that she and D.Woods were asked to come back for thenew season of “Making the Band 4.” She assures MTV News that as far as she knows, this wasn’t the case at all. “Well, I was fired and we all saw that,” O’Day said. “I’m not sure about the other girls — who was invited back or what they were asked to do — but I obviously wouldn’t be invited back if I was fired.”

Recently, Dawn Richard came to MTV News to kill the rumor that she had already begun work on her solo album when she was still in Danity Kane. Although O’Day had accused Richard of doing so during the last season of “MTB,” when asked about it now, O’Day didn’t want to reiterate her suspicions.

“I can’t speak on her life; I have no idea,” she said. “I know what they have confirmed to me, and that is what I said in the season finale.”

O’Day said she doesn’t want to sully DK’s good name. In fact, she’s hoping that fans will continue to honor the group that made her a star.

“Danity Kane was a wonderful group, and like all things, nothing is forever. We had a great run and we were very successful,” she said. “We may not have that answer for our fans, which is disappointing, but we did try, and that’s more than a lot of people.”

Despite the fact that she’s pursuing her own career as a solo artist, O’Day would never turn down the chance to get onstage with her old bandmates. “I have so much respect for that situation, if there was ever interest in me coming back … and making music with the girls, I would never say no to something like that.”

Aubrey O’Day is looking for a fresh start this year — with a Playboy pictorial and new music on the way — but before she goes forward, she’s looking back and commenting on Danity Kane’s apparent breakup. Last week, Dawn Richard told MTV that Danity Kane is over, and O’Day blogged in response to those comments.

“My theme this year; let go of the past, and focus on all of the beautiful things that are about to fill our future!” she blogged. “I know most of you find that relevant to me in relation to my departure from dear ol’ DK.

“I’ve stayed away from directly responding or commenting on the negativity, or misguided views and judgments that have unfortunately been the voice of summarizing Danity Kane … it’s only fair to finally put my thoughts of DK to rest.”

She noted that being in the group “was a beautiful experience, filled with all of life’s wonderful ups and downs,” and wrote that the reason for the split was not because the girls “suffered bad relationships, felt suffocated, unappreciated [and] sick of giving in.”

In what can be assumed is her response to recent interviews with her former bandmates, she wrote, “You may be seeing expression of emotions succeeding expression of actual reality, but that does not change the reality that every girl in this group had a dream, and we fought long and hard to see it become reality.”

She expressed love for her former bandmates and seems not to harbor any ill will toward them.

“I will forever be blessed to have had that experience,” she wrote. “Each one of those girls is a talent to be reckoned with … and beyond pure talent, which I hands down experienced on a daily basis from each girl, each girl really did want to be a role model and change the world in their own little way.

“And that’s what made us real, what made us the truth, what made us something to believe in, and that inner desire on all of our parts has not changed.”

When ”Making the Band”returns on February 12, fans already know two former members will be missing: Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods, who were dismissed from the group by Diddy last season. But they’ll probably be surprised that Shannon Bex isn’t there either, which apparently means the end of the band.

“As of right now, [Danity Kane doesn't exist],” Dawn Richard told MTV News on Wednesday (January 28). “It’s devastating for me.”

“You’ll see me and Drea [Aundrea Fimbres] try and pick up the pieces on our own [on this season's show] — pieces that we didn’t even make,” she continued. “We didn’t even break it and we’re trying to sweep it up ourselves. Puff invited all the girls to come back on this season and they chose not to. Only two of us showed up. That’s fine if that’s the choice.

“It changes [our situation] completely,” she said. “We have fans out there who love Danity Kane. We love Danity Kane. It’s hard. We’re sitting here trying to make sense of it now. It’s hard. We’re put in this position that we didn’t ask to be in and we’re being told to fix it.”

Richard said that Bex apparently made the decision not to show up for the season on her own.

“I don’t know why [Bex left]. I think she’s just happy. I don’t want to even try to answer it ’cause that’s not fair to her. I haven’t [spoken to her] but I heard she’s doing well with her husband and she got a house. I love her, but I don’t know.”

Bex was coy about the issue in an interview published earlier this week.

Richard admitted that she was as surprised as anyone that she and Drea were the only members on the set. “We are the only two that showed up,” she said. “The thing about it … I thought we were all going to come back and talk, or maybe if Aubrey didn’t come back, ’cause I don’t know how Puff was feeling about that, if the four of us got together. I didn’t know what to expect. I just know I got off the plane and found out I was the only one there and Drea came the next day.”

And although Fimbres and Richard were both present for the taping of the show, it seems that Richard spent a lot of her time hanging out with fellow “MTB” castmates Day 26 trying to make the best of the situation.

“I was there every day, on my own. Sometimes Drea was there, sometimes she wasn’t, ’cause she had to go fix some stuff at home,” she said. “So it was me and six guys, which is great ’cause I’m a guy girl! It was fun. [But] it was very hard not knowing what the next step was going to be.”

One thing that Richard is certain of is her disbelief at everything that’s happened with Danity Kane in the last few months, which not only included the two dismissals but also news about Aubrey O’Day’s sexuality and her forthcoming Playboyspread.

“I’m still surprised at it all. I’m still trying to recover from the first fire,” she said. “So I’m still confused. I still don’t know. I’m just being so honest. I have no idea.”

A spokesperson for Diddy and Danity Kane’s rep at Atlantic Records had no comment.

MTV News will have lots more from our interview with Dawn Richard in the coming days.

Viewers can see everything unfold on the next season of “Making the Band,” which premieres on February 12.

—note I’m pretty sure this may just be hype for the new season…lets hope so anyway stay tuned—
