4/24/2009 - What a finale for Making The Band. Love, hate, music, dancing and NO DREA! Boo at my life at that point. However, overall a productive night I am especially happy for Donnie being able to speak his mind I hope he gets his solo show. Letting people out of their contracts, splitting the group up, and now...now...firing Aundrea? Are we serious right now? Is this whats poppin in the hood? Dawn? Seriously? Dawn on a solo? The rumors for the past 2 years turn out to finally be true? I'm speechless. I can't believe this. Read down the page for more info on this story. AHHHHHH!!

Shannon leaves Danity Kane…?

October 27th, 2008

As the fallout continues from Danity Kane parting ways with Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods, speculation was rife in the blogosphere that R&B songstress Cassie would be joining the group as its new frontwoman.

And on Monday (October 27), rumors began spreading that Shannon Bex has left the group as well — leaving only Aundrea Fimbres and Dawn Richard as Danity Kane — based on information a “source” told Elvis Duran from New York radio station Z100.

Bex had said she was “shell-shocked” by O’Day and Woods’ departures.

On Monday, MTV News reached out to a rep from Atlantic Records, the group’s label, who shot down rumor #1 but did not address rumor #2.

“Cassie is not joining DK,” the rep said. “Cassie is set to release her second solo album in spring of ’09.”

But what about the Shannon rumor? At press time, the rep had not responded to repeated queries on that issue.

Duran’s blog post reads in part: “You remember Shannon, the nice, quiet, married girl who was a great team player. Well, guess little momma has more b—s than all the rest of them! Tired of the drama, cat fights and Diddy, she hands in her microphone and tells Mr. Badboy Worldwide where to stick it!”

Three years after he picked them to round out the all-girl pop group he’d been assembling, Sean “Diddy” Combs gave Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods the proverbial boot during Tuesday night’s live season-three finale of “Making the Band 4,” leaving only Aundrea Fimbres, Shannon Bex and Dawn Richard to carry on as Danity Kane. Diddy’s reason for the dismissals? Fame turned O’Day into someone he no longer recognized, he said via satellite, and D. Woods was merely guilty by association, caught up in the shrapnel of O’Day’s celebrity.

But according to Richard, it was O’Day’s image that gave Diddy pause.

“Puff did not like [O'Day's] image … where her image was going for the group,” she told UsMagazine.com “It wasn’t a personal thing,” she added, explaining that O’Day’s recent topless appearance on the cover of Complex magazine wasn’t sending the right message to the group’s fans.

“We had just did a signing with Dollhouse Teen, which is for 13, 14-year-old young girls,” Richard continued. “So, we can’t do that one day and then the next day do an obnoxious cover. … [Diddy] wants the fans, and he says he can’t do that if we can continue to go in the direction that we were going.”

While Diddy said he would work with Woods in the future, O’Day’s time is over. But the group will continue, Richard said.

“Well, Puff told me specifically that Aubrey is no longer in Danity Kane, and Danity Kane will move forward without her,” she explained, adding that Diddy hasn’t mentioned anything about replacing the two singers. “He has not said anything per that. But I think in my heart that he is going to do another show.”

Danity Kane down to 3…

October 15th, 2008

Well I hate to put a post above our last one where so many of you guys have left responses but heres the official release statement from MTV regarding Danity Kane.  I don’t know what is going on but I think alot of people weren’t feelin Aubrey as much anymore from the comments we received.  I just hope everyone can get level headed before the next season so we can get some reunion goin or somethin!  Though this article does confirm D. Woods has moved on to other projects.

From MTV:

On Tuesday night’s live season-three finale of “Making the Band 4,” Diddy confirmed the rumors that Aubrey O’Day is no longer in Danity Kane. He also kicked out D. Woods, leaving only Aundrea Fimbres, Dawn Richard and Shannon Bex in the group he so carefully put together before our eyes four years ago.

“I would rather be hated every damn day of my life for being real than loved for being something I’m not,” O’Day defiantly told Sway on the special that aired Tuesday night.

Diddy, who spoke to the girls and the audience via satellite, had some advice for tabloid target Aubrey. “Check this out, baby girl,” Diddy said. “See, your attitude is gonna have you in a dark and lonely place. … What you need to do, at the end of the day, is humble yourself.

“I got love for Aubrey. I don’t have any beef with her,” he added. “I just want to work with the young lady that I signed, not the person that fame has made her.”

“I don’t think any of us has been happy for a long time,” admitted D.Woods, who Diddy said had gotten “caught up in the wrath” of Aubrey.

MTV News reached out to a rep for Danity Kane to see where the future of the band stands now that Aubrey and D. Woods are no longer in the group. It’s being reported that D.Woods has plans to work with another group, the Girls Club. O’Day, who recently made her Broadway debut in “Hairspray,” has not announced what she will be doing next.

“Tonight is a representation of the end of a chapter in my life; it’s not the end of the book,” O’Day said in a backstage interview before the finale. “I will do everything possible to make my mark on this industry, and Danity Kane and Puff provided me with this amazing opportunity to go out and really touch people’s hearts. I think the way that we were able to inspire people was something that I will never be able to achieve in that way again in my life.”

On Tuesday, it was also confirmed that there will be another season of “Making the Band.”

Crazy rumors right now

September 3rd, 2008

Boy there are some crazy rumors going on right now about Puff attempting to take Dawn out of the group and into a solo career.

Sources have been going crazy letting everyone know that Dawn has been flying out to meet privately with Diddy so he can groom her to become a solo artist as he believes she is the most talented.

So the hawks hear this and start telling everyone that the rest of Danity Kane is furious at this, isn’t talking to Dawn and anymore and has since no-showed several appearances because Dawn was going to be apart of them.

Now a spokesperson from Diddy has come out and denied all of the above saying the Danity Kane are still a group, no meetings between Diddy and Dawn have happened and there are no plans to dismantle Danity Kane.

So it looks like everyone just might be going crazy over nothing, atleast for now I mean these groups never last forever especially when someone tries to be the star of the show all of the time right Aubrey?

The famous American R&B girl group Danity Kane has added one more feather to their musical cap and that is of designer. The Multi-Platinum group has collaborated with Dollhouse Jeans to bring a new collection of denims.

The new range of denims is in complete sync with the sensational and sizzling group’s latest album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, that has once again become a great hit and is ruling charts. The latest designs are extremely innovative and experimental with a hint of fun, very similar to what the band stands for.

Dollhouse Jeans is known for signing up popular artists for bringing out trendy collections for the fashion lovers at regular intervals. Each range is different as it has the personal touch and trademark of the celebrity.

These fashionable denims will receive rave response as hundreds and thousands of fans are eagerly waiting to possess them and be a part of Danity Kane group. The jeans will be available at Dollhouse Showroom in NYC.

Donnie speaks out

August 19th, 2008

We all know what today is!!  The return of Making the Band!!!!!!! :)

So heres a quick interview with Donnie c/o SOHH:

With the hit series “Making the Band” returning to MTV tonight and a debut album on the horizon, SOHH sat down with Diddy’s latest protégé, Donnie Klang, to find out how he’s preparing and what he thinks about being labeled the next Justin Timberlake.

Having been likened to fellow blue eyed soul singers like JT and Robin Thicke, Donnie insists that he tried to stay clear of the comparisons for his upcoming disc, Just A Rolling Stone, yet he’s still flattered by the association.

“I’d rather be compared to this artist [Justin] that’s extremely talented and sells multi-platinum album after multi-platinum album and could sell out arenas,” he said. “I take it in stride. I love it.”

After his fellow “MTB” alumni debuted at number one on the charts – Day 26 pushed 190,000 units their first week out whileDanity Kane outsold the guys this year selling 236,000 discs – Donnie admits he is feeling the pressure to be as successful.

“It’s more so that I’m anxious,” he revealed. “I can’t wait ‘til it’s really out there and everybody could hear it front to back. I know there’s a lot of fans out there that have been waiting for a long time for it to come out and it’s finally coming.”

Just a Rolling Stone will feature production from The Dream, Seven, Mario Winans and Danja along with songwriting from The Clutch collective.

As for what fans can expect from this season of “Making the Band” Donnie said there is no shortage of drama.

“It was 11 of us crammed into one tour bus and we were in Vegas for about 5 days so what happens in Vegas will be on this season of ‘Making the Band.’”

Aubrey O’Day on Broadway

July 19th, 2008

Aubrey BackstageBy Christina Garibaldi
Aubrey O’Day is more than ready for her Broadway debut in “Hairspray.” We just caught up with the Danity Kane singer and her puppy Ginger backstage.

Aubrey, in full makeup, showed off her dog, who she dressed up in a pink wig and doggie cape accessorized with various “Hairspray”-themed trinkets. We talked to her in her dressing room minutes before she graced the Broadway stage for the first time.

Her dressing room was flooded with flowers, gifts and family coming by to wish her support and luck — and, of course, telling her to “break a leg.” O’Day seemed in good spirits and was thrilled to have her family and friends in attendance (52 loved ones were there, to be exact).

Aubrey shook off those last-minute jitters, but she seemed more than ready to get the night started. She told us she couldn’t wait to get out there. She went on to say that she is fulfilling her childhood dream of being a Broadway star.

If you think Aubrey O’Day has a bad rap, think again.  The  singer is proud of her reputation as the bad girl of music group Danity Kane and even has a single featuring Missy Elliot called “Bad Girl” coming out soon.

So when OK! caught up with O’Day at the Vitamin Water Homers in the Hudson Event, she was happy to set the record straight.

I don’t know, I think every woman has every side of them you know?” O’Day told OK!.   “I think every girl in our group is the bad girl and the nice girl and funny.”

Aubrey has a busy summer ahead of her, to say the least.  She is starring in Hairspray on Broadway as Amber, and is releasing a clothing line called Heart on My Sleeve Shop.com.

I’m sure there will be a tour or something coming up for Danity Kane,” she adds in  at the last minute.
When asked about her unique sense of style, O’Day agrees  wholeheartedly.

“I love to stand out, I love to be the center of attention,” she says.  “I love to steal all the attention in the room and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.  I think it’s a fabulous thing to be if you’re comfortable, so I look for clothes to do that.”

She adds, “I just look for anything that’s bright, that stands out. I’m fun, I take chances, I think outside the box.  I don’t like to have anything regular or anything everyone else does, so you’ll never see me in anything like that.”
